1/2 lb liversurst
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1/4 tsp thyme
1 tbsp finely cut chives
18 2-inch rounds cut from thin bread slices
3 strips lean bacon
1 - Blend together liverwurst, mayonnaise, thyme, and chives.
2 - Use cookie cutter to cut rounds from thin slices of bread.
3 - Spread rounds with softened butter then with liverwurst mixtuer.
4 - Cut bacon strips crosswise in 6 pieces each.
5 - Lay piece of bacon on top of liverwurst.
6 - Chill until serving time.
7 - Broil canapes 2 inches from moderate broiler until bacon is crisp, browned, ar curled.
8 - Serve at once.
Makes 12 canapes
