1 tbsp butter
1 drop Tabasco sauce
1 tbsp flour
2 tbsp cream
1 (3 oz) can chopped broiled mushrooms
2 oz Old English processed cheese, grated (14 tbsp)
36 narrow toast fingers
1 - Place butter and Tabasco in saucepan over low het.
2 - Stir in flour smoothly.
3 - Add cream and broth drained from mushrooms.
4 - Bring to boiling point, stirring until cheese melts.
5 - Remove from heat.
6 - Chop mushrooms very fine.
7 - Add to cheese mixture.
8 - Spread on toast fingers.
9 - Heat thoroughly under broiler just before serving.
Makes 1 cup of spread--about 36 small canapes.
