Crisp Sesame Strips
Source: Vintage Recipes from Amy Vanderbilt's Complete Cookbook (c. 1961)
1 cp sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp powdered ginger
1/2 tsp sugar
1 cp grated sharp cheese
1/4 cp toasted sesame seeds
1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
1/3 cp butter or margerine, melted
1 tbsp water
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 - Start oven at moderate (350 degrees F.)
2 - Sift dry ingredienets together into bowl.
3 - Stir in cheese and mix well.
4 - Stir in sesame seeds.
5 - Combine remaining ingredients.
6 - Add to cheese mixture.
7 - Stir to form a ball.
8 - Roll out on lightly floured board to 1/8 inch thickeness.
9 - Cut in strips 1 by 3 inches or rounds.
