1 1/2 ;lbs ground beef
1 1/2 cps bread crumbs
2/3 cp diced processed American cheese
1 onion, peeled and diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
2 tsp salt
1 small bay leaf, crumbled
1/4 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp garlic salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can tomato sauce, 1 1/4 cps
1 - Mix beef, crumbs, cheese, onion, green pepper, and seasonings.
2 - Combine eggs and tomato sauce.
3 - Mix with meat combination.
4 - Start oven at moderate (350 degrees F.).
5 - Shape meat into 2 loaves in buttered shallow pan.
6 - Bake about 1 hour or until browned and done through.
7 - Serve hot, with or without tomato sauce.
Makes 10 servings.
To freeze these loaves, let them cool thoroughly when they come
from the oven. Wrap them on tray or pan in which they baked, using
wrapping according to instructions for your deep freezer. Seal loose
ends with freezer tape. Freeze quickly. To serve, unwrap pan, place in
moderate (350 degrees F.) oven, and bake about 1 1/2 hours.
