Broiled Loaf Beefburgers

1 loaf Vienna bread about 12 by 5 inches
soft butter or margerine
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cp grated onion
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 pats butter
1 - Cut loaf in half lengthwise.
2 - Spread cut surfaces with butter or margerine.
3 - Combine remaining ingredients except butter and onion rings.
4 - Spread mixture about 1/2 inch thick on each half loaf.
5 - Build up edges slightly.
6 - Place about 6 inches under broiler heat.
7 - Broil about 15 minutes or until meat is cooked.
8 - Top with pats of butter.
9 - Garnish with onion rings.
10 - Place on warmed platter.
11 - Cut in generous chunks to serve.
Makes 8 servings.
A hand-to-mouth supper for teenagers or anyone. Delicious as the
one hot sandwich in a cold-cuts supper.
