1/4 lb Cheddar or snappy cheese
1/4 cp sherry
2 tbsp finely cut chives
4 tbsp butter or margerine
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
long loaf French bread
extra butter or margerine
1 - Grate cheese.
2 - Pour wine over it.
3 - Add chives and mix together.
4 - Add butter or margerine
5 - Beat until smoooth and evenly mixed.
6 - Add seasonings.
7 - Star oven at moderate (375 degrees F.)
8 - Slice loaf diagonally, almost to bottom crust.
9 - Spread paste on slices
10 - Brush outside of loaf with butter or margerine.
11 - Place on baking sheet and set in oven 20 minutes or until hot and top browning slightly..
Makes 8 or more servings.
For cook-out and barbeque suppers, perpare the loaf, wrap in foil, lay
on grill over hot coals 15 minutes or until hot. Wear barbeque gloves
