1/3 cp butter
3/4 cp sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla or lemon extract or
2 tbsp brandy, rum, or sherry
1 - Cream butter.
2 - Add sugar gradually.
3 - Continue creaming until light and fluffy.
4 - Beat in flavoring.
5 - Serve on hot puddings.
Makes 6 servings.
Fluffy Hard Sauce: Whip 1/4 cp heavy cream. Fold into hard sauce
after flavoring has been added. Increases number of servings to 8 or
Brown Sugar Hard Sauce: Substitute 3/4 cp brown sugar, packed, for
confectioners' sugar. Beat in 1 egg yolk after butter and sugar have
been creamed together. Fold in 1/2 cp chopped toasted almonds after
flavorings have been added.
Makes 8 servings.
