Sweet Potato Puff

4 sweet potatoes
1/4 cp butter or margerine
3 tbsp cream
1/8 tsp salt
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp powderedd nutmeg
1/8 tsp powdered cloves
1 - Scrub potatoes.
2 - Rinse.
3 - Drain.
4 - Pare.
5 - Cover with water.
6 - Bring to a boil and boil 20 minutes or until tender.
7 - Drain potatoes and mash.
8 - Beat egg, cream, salt, sugar, and spices together, then beat into mashed potatoes; whip until fluffy.
9 - Start oven at moderate (350 degrees F.).
10 - Butter a 1-1/2 qt baking dish.
11 - Pile whipped potatoes in baking dish.
12 - Press marshmallows lightly into potato mixture.
13 - Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until marshmallows are puffy, melting, and browned
This is a standard with us at turkey time. But it's good with baked
ham, roast chicken or, of course, goose.
