Scallops Baked in Garlic Sauce
2 lbs bay scallops (or sea scallops cut in half)
3 cloves garlic
1 cp butter
1/2 cp sliced mushrooms
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 cp fine bread crumbs
1 - Wipe scallops
2 - Drain garlic cloves, and mash or pound them in butter until well mblended.
3 - Lightly grease a small casserole with part of the garlic butter.
4 - Put in mushrooms.
5 - Arrange scallops over mushrooms.
6 - Dot them all with all but 2 tbsp of remaining butter.
7 - Sprinkle with bread crumbs and remaining garlic butter.
8 - Bake until browned.
9 - For individual service, bake in small scallop shells or ramekins
