Veal and Noodles en Casserole
2 lbs veal cut into 2" pieces
1/4 cp seasoned flour (2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper)
5 tbsp butter
1 cp chopped onion
1 cp water
8 ounces noodles
1 cp mushrooms
1 cp commercial sour cream
1/4 cp buttered bread crumbs
1 - Dip veal in seasoned flour.
2 - Brown in hot butter.
3 - Add onions and water and cook slowly about 45 minutes.
4 - Cook noodles in boiling salted water until soft. About 8 minutes.
5 - Drain.
6 - Combine veal and noodles.
7 - Add mushrooms and sour cream.
8 - Turn into greased medium casserole.
9 - Top with crumbs.
10 - Cover and bake in slow oven (300 degrees F.) until veal is tender.
11 - This is one of those clever little dishes, made ahead to look esy and keep you unruffled before dinner.
