Deep-Dish Ham and Apple Pie
5 tart apples, pared and cored
3 cps cooked chopped ham
1/4 cp brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp melted butter
Pastry for 1-crust pie (rolled to fit casserole you are using
1 - Cut apples as for apple pie. Be sure not to slice too thin.
2 - Spread a layer of ham in a generously greased casserole.
3 - Cover with a layer of apples.
4 - Sprikle with brown sugar (the amount depends on the tartness of the apples) and lemon juice.
5 - Repeat layers of ham and apples, ending with apples.
6 - Dot with butter.
7 - Cover with pastry, moistening edge with water so crust sticks to baking dish.
8 - Bake at 450 degrees F. for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350 and bake 20-30 minutes more or until pie is done..
