Turkey Monte Carlo
1 12-oz pkg frozen broccoli
2 cps broad noodles
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1 cp light cream
1 cp turkey or chicken stock
1 cp grated American cheese
2 cps diced cooked turkey 1/3 cp roasted almonds, slivered
1 - Cook broccoli as directed on package
2 - Cook noodles separately.
3 - Drain and reserve.
4 - Meanwhile make sauce: Melt butter, stir in flour, salt, pepper, and dry mustard.
5 - Slowly add cream and chicken stock. (If you do not have stock, use broccoli liquid or water.)
6 - Cook, stirring until thickened.
7 - Remove from heat.
8 - Add cheese and let it melt.
9 - Heat oven. (350 degrees F.)
10 - Combine noodles and sauce and turn half into buttered large casserole.
11 - Add a layer of turkey and a layer of cooked broccoli.
12 - Repeat layers.
13 - Finish with remainder of noodles and sauce.
14 - Sprinkle with almonds.
15 - Bake uncovered until bubbly hot.
