6 cps buttermilk
1 cake dry yeast
1/2 cp lukewarm water
1 1/2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbs[ butter or butter substitute
1 - Heat buttermilk, stirring constantly until scalded.
2 - Remove from fire and let cool.
3 - Add yeast which has been softened in water.
4 - Add sufficient flour to make a medium batter.
5 - Beat until smooth.
6 - Cover and set in a warm place and allow to stand overnight.
7 - Add sugar, salt, butter or butter substitute, and enough flour
to make the dough just stiff enough to knead.
8 - Turn onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic.
9 - Allow to rrise until double in bulk.
10 - Form into loaves.
11 - Place in well oiled pans.
12 - Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
13 - Bake in hot oven (425 degrees F.) about 45 minutes.
