Chocolate Finger Rolls
1 1/2 cps foundation sponge
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp melted shortening
1 cp whole wheat flour
3/4 cp sugar
1/2 cp grated chocolate
2 1/2 cps white flour
1 - Combine the ingredients in the order given, mixing whole wheat flour,
sugar and chocolate together
2 - Add white flour and mix thoroughly.
3 - Turn onto lightly floured board.
4 - Knead until smooth and elastic.
5 - Cover and let stand in a warm place until double in bulk.
6 - Knead well, let rise the second time.
7 - Form into rolls 3 inches long.
8 - Arrange in a well oiled shallow pan.
9 - Cover and let rise until treble in bulk.
10 - Bake in a hot oven (425 degrees F.) about 15 minutes.
11 - As soon as taken from the oven, brush with melted butter or butter substitute.
12 - Serve hot.
