Steamed Brown Bread
3/4 cp molasses
1 cp corn meal
1 1/3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cps sour milk
1 cp white flour
1 cp graham flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 - Sift flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder together.
2 - Add corn meal and graham flour.
3 - Combine sour milk and molasses.
4 - Add dry ingredients and stir well.
5 - Fill well-oiled 1-pound cans or molds 2/3 full.
6 - Cover loosely and steam 3 hours.
A granular cereal may be substituted for the corn meal.
