Pare squash. Cut in squares. Place in well-buttered casserole with
alternate layers of brown sugar and butter. Bake in moderate oven (400 degrees F.)
30 minutes. If desired cut Hubbard squash in pieces suitable for
serving. Do not remove shell. Place in baking pan. Add 1/2 cp
cold water. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) until squash is tender.
Serve in shell.
