1/2 cp flour
1/2 tsp cooking oil
1/2 cp milk
1.2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 - Combine slightly beaten egg, milk, sugar, salt and cooking oil.
2 - Sift flour slowly into the mixture, beating constantly until smooth.
3 - Set aside for 1 hour or until free from bubbles.
4 - Fry on a timbale iron which has been heated by immersing in deep hot fat (360 degrees F.)
5 - Dip heated iron into the batter.
6 - HoldHold iron at an angle until the bottom is covered, then lower iron into the batter until
1/2 inch from the top.
7 - Hold iron straight and lower into hot fat (360 degrees F.).
8 - Cook until case is crusp and brown.
9 - Remove from fat; slip case from iron.
19 - Drain on crumpled absorbent paper.
11 - If batter slips from iron into bowl the iron is not hot enough. If
case slips from iron into fat, the fat is too hot.
