6 tart apples
6 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cp water
1 - Select medium apples.
2 - Wash.
3 - Remove stems, cores, and blossom ends.
4 - Cut a narrow strip of skin from the upper portion of the apple.
5 - Place in baking pan.
6 - Fill with sugar and nutmeg which have been combined.
7 - Dot with butter.
8 - Pour 1/2 cp water around apples.
9 - Bake in slow oven (325 degrees F.) 2-3 hours.
10 - Baste frequently.
11 - If desired the spice may be omitted, and jelly, chopped nuts, or diced marshmallows
may be used to fill the cdavities.
