Fried Apple Pies
Roll plain doughnut dough in sheet 1/4 inch thick. Cut in 6-inch
rounds. Place 1-2 tbsp thick well-flavored apple sauce on each
round. Moisten edges. Fold over. Press edges firmly together. Slip
pies into deep fat (365 degrees F.). Fry until puffed and brown. Drain on
crumpled absorbent paper. Serve with cheese and hot coffee.
