Brown Sugar Squares
2 1/2 cps brown sugar
1 3/4 cps evaporated milk
2 tbsp corn sirup
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
2 tbsp butter or butter substitute
1 cp coconut
1 cp chopped almonds
few grains salt
1 - Boil sugar, sirup, and milk to soft ball stage (234-238 degrees F.).
2 - Remove from fire.
3 - AXdd butter or butter substitute.
4 - Cool to room temperature.
5 - Beat until thick and creamy.
6 - Add coconut, nuts, salt, and flavoring.
7 - Pour into ell buttered shallow pan.
8 - Cut in squares.
