2 cps brown sugar
1 cp sugar
1 cp milk
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp butter or butter substitute
1/4 tsp salt
1 cp bran
1 - Boil all ingredients except bran to soft ball stage (234-238 degrees F.)
2 - Cool to room temperature.
3 - Add bran.
4 - If desired, 1/2 cp raisins, dates, or nuts may be added.
5 - Beat until stiff enough to knead.
6 - Turn onto a board dusted with powdered sugar.
7 - Knead until smooth.
8 - Shape into a roll and slice.
