Quick Raisin Buns
Baking powder biscuit dough
1 1/8 cps milk
1/2 cp butter
1/2 cp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cp raisins
1 - Use the prepared biscuit mixture or a home-made biscuit mixture
prepared by the recipe for home-made biscuits.
2 - In either case add a beaten egg with the milk in mixing the dough.
3 - Transfer to a board dusted with flour; roll into an oblong shape
1/4" in thickness.
4 - Spread with 2 tbsp of butter stirred to a cream; sprinkle with cinnamon
and 2 tbsp brown sugar and the raisins; roll up the dough as in making a jelly roll.
5 - Cream together the remaining butter and brown sugar; and spread thickly
on the sides and bottom of a heavy frying pan.
6 - Cut the dough crosswise in 2 inch slices and place cut side down in the frying pan.
7 - Bake in a hot oven for 30 mintes, or until brown on top.
8 - Carefully turn upside down, taking care not to spill then syrup; serve warm or cold.
