2 cps flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp shortening
3/4 cp milk
3/4 cp finely chopped nut meats
2 tbsp butter
1 - Sift the dry ingredients; cut in the shortening until the consistency
of coarse corn meal.
2 - Moisten with the egg, slightly beaten and combined with the milk.
3 - Mix until blended then transfer to a board dusted with flour.
4 - Roll into oblong shape, 1/4 inch in thickness.
5 - Divide in halves; spread one half with the chopped nuts and butter combined.
6 - Cover with the second half; press the edges together;
and cut in finger length strips.
7 - Tramsfer to an oiled shallow pan.
8 - Bake in a hot oven, 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown.
