2 1/2 cps flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 cps sour milk
1 tbsp shortening
1 - Sift the dry ingredients. Beat the egg yolk; add a cup of sour milk
and pour into the sifted mixture.
2 - Add the shortening and the remaining milk.
3 - Knead on a floured board until smooth.
4 - Pat to 3/4" thickness and cut into medium size biscuits..
5 - Let stand for an hour or 2. Fry very slowly on an oiled griddle.
\ allowing 12 minutes and turning only once.
6 - Serve hot. Split and put together with butter.
