1 1/2 cps flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cp milk
1/4 cp melted shortening
1 - Sift the dry ingredients; Beat the egg yolks and add the milk.
2 - Stir into the flour mixture; add the shortening and fold in the egg
whites whipped stiff.
3 - Transfer by generous tablespoonfuls to heated waffle iron.
4 - Close the iron; cook the waffles from 3 to 5 minutes, according to the thickness.
5 - If an electric iron is used, it should not be oiled.
6 - Try out 1 or 2 small waffles first, to make sure it will not stick.
7 - Electric waffle irons should not be washed.
