1/4 cp shortening
3/4 cp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2/3 cp flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
6 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cp milk
1 - Cream the shortening; gradually work in then sugar; and add the egg yolks,
well beaten and combined with the vanilla.
2 - Sift the dry ingredients; and add alternatively with the milk to the first mixture.
3 - Fold in the egg whites, whipped stiff; and bake about 5 minutes in hot waffle iron.
4 - Serve with whipped cream and chopped nuts if desired.
