Macaroni Escalloped with Ham
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cps milk
2 cps cooked, chopped macaroni
1 1/4 cps minced cooked ham
1/2 cp coarse crumbs
1/4 cp grated American or Parmesan cheese 1 tbsp butter (additional)
1 - Melt the 2 tbsp of butter; add the flour, salt and pepper.
2 - Mix and when smooth, gradually mix in the 2 cps of milk.
3 - Stir until the mixture thickens. then add the macaroni and ham.
4 - Transfer to an oiled baking dish.
5 - Sprinkle with the crumbs mixed with the chees and the remaining butter which should be melted.
6 - Place in a hot oven, 400 degrees to brown, allowing about 15 minutes.
