Escalloped Noodles with Tomatoes
1/2 lb noodles
1 qt can tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp bacon fat
1 cp coarse bread crumbs
4 slices lean bacon
1 - Boil the noodles. While cooking, stir together the tomatoes, seasonings and sugar.
2 - Melt the bacon fat; put in a layer of cooked noodles; then one of tomatoes and crumbs.
3 - Continue until all is used. Place in a moderately hot oven, 350 degrees and bake 30 minutes.
4 - Then lay lean slices of bacon overe the top and bake until browned.
