1 lb round steak, chopped
cooked sliced carrots
fried onion rings
parsley to garnish
1 - Season the steak with salt and pepper; and form into oblong about 1 1/2" thick.
2 - Shape so the steak covers about 2/3 of a plank or fireproof platter.
3 - Rub the plank with savory drippings; and place the steak on it.
4 - Broil under moderate flame about 7 minutes, or until steak is brown on top, and about 2/3 done.
5 - Remove from the broiler and with a spoon or pastry bag, arrange the mashed potatoes around the steak.
6 - Form potato cups at each end; and fill with carrots.
7 - Place the plank under the broiler again and brown about 4 minutes.
8 - Garnish with fried onion rings and sprigs of parsley; and serve.
