Old-Fashioned Pork Pie
1 1/2 lbs pork shoulder or blade pork
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 lb washed and sliced mmushrooms
1 cp peeled, sliced potatoes
1/2 tsp meat sauce
1 - Remove the fat and bones from the pork; and cut in pieces convenient for serving.
2 - Melt a tbsp of fat or drippings in a heavy frying pan; add the pork, onion, and mushrooms
and fry until the vegetables and meat are brown
3 - Add the potatoes and meat sauce; and season to taste with salt and pepper.
4 - Add enough water to almost submerge the meaqt; and cook over moderate heat until
the vegetables are tender.
5 - Transfer to a deep pie plate or shallow casserole lined with pie crust.
6 - Cover with a round of pie crust cut to fit.
7 - Slash the top to allow steam to escape; press the edges of the pie crust together; and crimp with the fingers
8 - Bake in a hot oven, 425 degrees F. for 30 minutes, or until crust is brown on top.
