1 lb string beans
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 - Remove the strings from the beans by pulling from the stem with a knife.
2 - Cut in halves, lengthwise; place in a kettle with salt and sugar and boiling water to half cover.
3 - Put on a lid an boil until the beans are tender, about 30 minutes.
4 - Draqin; season with the butter and a little pepper.
