Baked Whole Tomatoes
4 medium-sized ripe tomatoes
1/2 tsp salt
few grains pepper
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp onion juice(optional
1 tbsp butter
1 - Pour boiling water over the tomatoes and remove the skins.
2 - Place the tomatoes in a buttered baking dish with 1/2 cp hot water.
3 - Dust with salt, pepper and sugar; and sprinkle over the onion juice, if used.
4 - Dot with butter and bake until tender in a moderate oven, 350 degrees F. allowing about 30 minutes.
