Cream Cheese Turnovers
2 1/2 cps flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cp shortening
1/2 cp cream cheese
1 - Put the flour and salt in a chopping bowl; measure in the shortening and cheese and chop unitl well blended.
2 - Heap up the mixture; make a hole in the center and pour in enough ice water, almost 3/4 cp to make a firm dough.
3 - Turn onto a lightly floured board; roll to 1/8" thickness; cut into rounds about 3 inches square.
4 - Place small teaspoonsfull of tart jelly on each.
5 - Fold over; press the edges together; and bake in a hot oven, 375 degrees F. until brown.
