1 cp sugar
juice and grated rind half a lemon
1 cp cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 - Separate the eggs. Beat the yolks and sugar together until light and creamy.
2 - Then beat in the juice and grated rind of the lemon.
3 - Sift the dry ingredients; and fold alternately into the cake mixture with the
egg whites whipped stiff.
4 - Transfer to an unoiled tube pan; and bake about 45 minutes in a slow oven, 325 degrees F.
