Black and White Torte
1/2 pkg zweiback
1 cp chopped nuts
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cp sugar
1/2 pt heavy cream
1 - Crush the zweiback with a rolling pin to make into crumbs; and combine with the nuts,
cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
2 - Separate the eggs; beat the yolks until thick; and gradually beat in the sugar.
3 - dd the Zweiback mixture; and fold in the egg whites, shipped stiff.
4 - Transfer to an oiled layer cake pan; and bake in a hot oven, 375 degrees F. for 15 minutes.
5 - Remove from the pan, cool, cover with the cream, whipped stiff; and top with chocolate sprinkles.
