1 cp sugar
3 tbsp melted shortening
1/2 tsp orange extract
1 1/2 cps cake flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cp milk
1 - Cream the shortening, egg and flavoring together then add the egg.
2 - Sift the dry ingredients; and combine with the first mixture.
3 - Transfer to two oiled layer cake pans; and bake in an oven at 375 degree F. about 25 minutes
4 - Put together the filling made by combining the pulp of 4 bananas with 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp flour,
and 1/8 tsp salt.
5 - Scald the mixture, stirring constantly; cool; add 1 tbsp lemon juice.
6 - Cover the top with plain white icing flavored with lemon extract; and place
thin slices of banana overlapping around the edge and the middle of the cake just before serving.
