Rhubarb Filled Cake
1/3 cp shortening
1 cp sugar
1/2 tsp orange extract
1 1/2 cps cake flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cp milk
1 - Cream the shortening and sugar together; add the egg well beaten, and the orange extract.
2 - Sift the dry ingredients; and add alternately with the milk to the first mixture.
3 - Transfer to 2 oiled layer cake pans and bake in an oven at 375 degrees F. about 20 minutes.
4 - Put the layers together with Rhubarb Filling and dust the top of the cake with confectioners' sugar.
