2 tbsp shortening
1 cp sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 1/2 cps flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cps blueberries
1 cp (scant) milk
1 - Stir the shortening until creamy.
2 - Add the sugar and the egg; and stir un til fluffy.
3 - Sift the dry ingredients, and add the berries.
4 - Stir alternately into the first mixture with the milk.
5 - Pour into a good-sized dripping pan; and bake 35 minutes in a moderately hot oven, 350 to 375 degrees F.
6 - Cool; cut into squares; and dust with powdered sugar
