1 lb dried figs
grated rind 1 orange
3/4 cp sugar
juice 1/2 lwmon
1 - Soak the figs overnight in water to cover.
2 - Add the orange rind; bring to the bolin=ing point; and simmer until tender
3 - Chop fine. Return to the waqter; add the lemonn juice and sugar; and cook until thick like jam.
4 - Use cold on the cake. Any remaining paste can be poured boiling hot, into a sterilized jar
covered with melted parrafin, like any jam and kept until needed.
