Old Fashioned Raisin Cookies
1/3 cp shortening
1 cp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cps flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cp raisins
1/3 cp milk
1 - Cream the shortening; work in the sugar; add the egg, slightly beaten and the vanilla.
2 - Beat until blended. Sift the dry ingredients together; add the raisins;
and add alternately with the milk to the first mixture
3 - Drop by teaspoonfuls onto anoiled shallow pan or cooky sheet, leaving about 2" between each cookie
4 - Bake in a moderate oven, 375 degrees F. for 12 minutes, or until the cookies are a delicate brown.
