Dropped Pound Cakes
4 1/2 cps flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp salt
1 cp butter
grated rind 1 lemon
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cps powdered sugar
1 cup milk
1 - Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
2 - Work in the butter with the finger tips, as in making pie crust.
3 - Beat the eggs light with the sugar, lemon rind and vanilla; and
add with the milk to the first mixture.
4 - Drop by large teaspoonfuls onto oiled cooky sheets, keeping them 2" apart.
5 - Dust with granulated sugar, chopped nuts, or chopped raisins, and any kind
of peel; or bake them plain, allowing 12 minutes in a hot oven 375 degrees F.
