1/2 cp shortening
1 cp sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp almon d flavoring
2 cps cake flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp salt
3/4 cp chopped toasted almonds
1/4 cp milk
whole toasted almonds
1 - Cream the shortening; work in the sugar, egg yolks and flavoring.
2 - Sift the dry ingredients; and add the chopped nuts.
3 - Add alternately with the first mixture with the milk.
4 - Drop by teaspoonfuls on a well oiled cooky sheet about 2" apart.
5 - Put a whole almond on each; and bake 12 minutes in a moderately hot oven, 350 to 375 degrees F.
