1 pint strawberries
1/2 cp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 cp heavy cream or evaporated milk
16 whole lady fingers
1 - Hull and wash the strawberries.
2 - Reserve 4 large berries for decorating and crush the rest; and add the sugar and lemon juice.
3 - Let stand for half an hour to blend.
4 - Then whip the cream or evaporated milk; and gradually add the strawberries.
5 - Split the lady fingers and line 4 sherbt glasses with them.
6 - Fill with the strawberry mixture, and top each charlotte with a whole strawberry.
7 - Chill and serve.
