Steamed Lady Finger Pudding
1 cp mixed fruits
1 cp sweetened condensed milk
1 cp hot water
2 tbsp melted butter
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 - Butter a mould or top of a double boiler.
2 - Place a layer of finely cut fruit in the bottom; and cover with a layer of lady fingers.
3 - Repeat until the fruit is used and the mould is 3/4 full.
4 - Sprinkle nutmeg or cinnamon between the layers if desired.
5 - Blend the condensed milk, water, the eggs, beaten, the butter, salt, and vanilla.
6 - Pour into the mould. Let stand for 1 hour or longer.
7 - Steam over hot water 1 1/2 hrs.
8 - If the double boiler is used, keep the bottom part 2/3 full of boiling water.>br> 9 - Serve hot with lemon sauce or whipped cream.
