Applesauce Ice-Box Cake
3 cps zwieback crumbs
6 tbsp melted butter
5 cps sweetened spiced applesauce
whipped cream or whipped evaporated milk
1 - Line a mould or pudding pan with waxed paper.
2 - Stir the melted butter into the zwieback crumbs; and arrange alternating layers of crumbs and applesauce in the mould
until all the ingredients have been used, making the bottom and top layer of crumbs.
3 - Place in the refrigerator 3 hours to ripen.
4 - Unmould; slice; and serve garnished with sweetened whipped cream or whipped evaporated milk flavored with vanilla.
