Ice Box Rolls II
1 cp boiling water
1/2 cp suar
3/4 cp butter (part butter and Crisco mixed)
1 tsp salt
1 cp warm milk
2 cakes Fleis. yeast cakes
2 beaten eggs
7 cps sifted flour (bread flour)
1 - Mix first 4 ingredients and cool to lukewarm.
2 - Soften yeast in warm milk, add first mixture.
3 - Add beaten eggs and 3 cps flour.
4 - Beat well.
5 - Stir in remaining flour, cover tightly, place in refrigerator to chill.
6 - Make in little balls the size of walnut.
7 - Place in greased tins 1/2" apart.
8 - Keep in warm place let rise to double in size.
9 - Bake in 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
Be sure mixture is nearly cool when placed in refrigerator. This mixture will keep 10 days to 2 weeks if kept in refrigerator.
