Hot Milk Cake II
2 well beaten eggs
1 cp sugar
1 cp flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cp hot milk(quite hot)
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 - Beat eggs light and thick.
2 - Slowly add sugar and beat with a spoon 5 minutes or with a mixer 2 1/2 minutes.
3 - Sift flour, salt, and baking powder; fold into egg and sugar mixture all at once.(Work Quickly)
4 - Melt butter in hot milk, add vanilla and add all at one time.
5 - Bake in a greased 7 to 9 inch square or round cake pan at 360 degrees for 30 minutes.
6 - This cake may be frosted and served plain, and is delicious used as your cake base for many other
desserts such as shrt cake, Boston cream or Martha Washington pie; or bake it in Mary Ann pans
at 375 degrees for 20 inutes, fill hollows with ice cream or sherbert or top with your favorite sauce.
