1/2 cp Spry
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cps sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 cps sifted flour
2/3 cp milk
1 ounce chocolate
2 tbsp water
1 - Combine Spry, salt, and vanilla.
2 - Add sugar gradually and cream.
3 - Add eggs singly beating well after each addition.
4 - Sift baking powder with flour three times, add to cream mixture alternately with milk,
mixing after each addition until smooth.
5 -Divide batter into 2 parts.
6 - Add melted chocolate and water to 1/2 batter.
7 - Drop the batter alternately by tablespoon into greased pan.
8 - Run spatula through batter several times to make like marble.
9 - Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 40-45 minutes.
1 - Melt 3 tbsp oleo or spry with 2 oz chocolate over hot water.
2 - Pour 4 tbsp hot milk over 2 cps confectioner's sugar and 1/4 tsp salt.
3 - Stir until sugar is dissolved.
4 - Add 1/2 tsp vanilla, then the chocolate mixture, beat until creamy and thick.
