1 - Your steak will be best if cut not less than 1 inch thick.
2 - Place it in a greased broiler and sear it quickly on each side.
3 - After that turn it only occasionally
4 - To cook rare a steak 1 1/2" thick should take about 10 minutes, but if it is preferred well done, broil int 12-15 minutes.
5 - When it has been put on a hot platter, place bits of butter all over it and season with salt and pepper.
