Braised Breast of Mutton

several thin slices of bacon
1/2 ptm stock
1 - In the bottom of an earthenware baking-dish place several thin slices of bacon and upon them the breast of mutton.
2 - Peel and slice a lemon, laying the slices upon the mutton.
3 - Add a few more slices of bacon and 1 lemon; then moisten with 1/2 pt of stock.
4 - Keep coveredc while cooking slowly either in the oven or on the stove top.
5 - Wneh the meat is tender, salt more if necessary.
